There are so many different ways to go about raising money for charity, and Hog Roast Beddgelert has catered for all kinds of fundraisers in the past. This June, Hog Roast Beddgelert was hired to cater for a charity auction organised by an animal charity based in North Wales. The auction was hosted to raise money for the charity, with local businesses and artists donating items and experiences that could be won by the highest bidder. The prizes included everything from illustrations to spa days, with something to suit everyone. To attract as many guests as possible, Hog Roast Beddgelert was hired to serve a classic hog roast for the event, with enough for around 250 guests to enjoy. Our team was eager to get involved with this event and we knew that our menu would be a great addition to the auction!
On the day of the auction, the Hog Roast Beddgelert team arrived at the venue in the morning and began preparing for the 7:00pm serving time. We began by slow-roasting the hog and allowing the succulent pork to cook for around five hours. Once ready, it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alternatively, the guests could enjoy BBQ-pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious plant-based option. The main dishes were served alongside homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and a green leaf salad, which created the perfect evening meal. We served our menu buffet style, which was perfect for allowing the guests to choose exactly what they wished to enjoy. Overall, the event was a big success and the Hog Roast Beddgelert team enjoyed being a part of it!
