Being a hog roast catering specialist, our dining at Hog Roast Colwyn Bay links us back centuries to events of old, where the hog roast was the king of the community celebration, cultural pastimes and events all across the world. It is a history that we are so proud to continue with modern events today, even if ours looks just a tad different from the fire pits of old, thanks to our own designed modern mobile roasting machines.
But this past weekend, the first of August, the Hog Roast Colwyn Bay set our time machine to a different era – one that might not seem all that long ago for some, and a different era completely for others. Yes, for a very special 60th birthday celebration, head chef Ste and the Hog Roast Colwyn Bay team headed on back to the 1960s with a themed party brimming with a tonne of era-defining memories and fun. For someone like our head chef Ste, the 60s are still a novel memory that doesn’t feel all too long ago. For some of the younger kids in this family unit at Hog Roast Colwyn Bay, it may as well be the time of the dinosaurs! Still however, all of us in the team got to enjoy the era once more with this swinging 60s birthday event held right here in Colwyn Bay!
For our part, we produced dining fitting of any time in our speciality hog roast dining experience. Cooked and served in the authentic spit style, it is as good today as it was in the 60s, and the many centuries before that. Ste then prepared a veggie alternative in our delicious grilled veg and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce – something you would be unlikely to have found in the time period, but one that we figure was necessary anyway so that everyone could share in the same great Hog Roast Colwyn Bay tastes. Guests, done up to the nines in their snazziest 60s getup, could then help themselves to seasonal leafy greens, creamy red cabbage slaw, and plenty of bread rolls and wraps.
