It has been a long and fun summer wedding season here at Hog Roast Powys. Several months of nonstop wedding events each and every weekend, be it the special days themselves, engagement celebrations, stag and hen dos, anniversaries, post-wedding parties and wedding fairs at our many partnered venues in Wales. It has been quite the season for our whole team; we have loved every second of it.
But now with September here we come to the end of the season. We have maybe a few more scattered through this month while the weather remains somewhat summery, but then it is into the autumn season and all of the festive and spooky events that come with it. Don’t worry though, from the summer wedding season, the winter wedding season in the UK is rarely all that far behind.
On this final weekend of summer, a special bank holiday weekend, the Hog Roast Powys team were fortunate enough to have one more special day to help close things out. This was the wonderful celebration for James and Merri, who said “I do” at the brilliant Llanfyllin Workhouse surrounded by 100 of their closes friends and family. Joining for the adventure was our own head chef Ste and the Hog Roast Powys team, who provided an exceptional hog roast dinner for everyone following the lovely ceremony. Set up in the garden grounds with a marquee tent covering to help shield guests from the elements should they have arrived, Ste was able to put on the whole hog roast show utilising our state of the art mobile hog roast machine. With weddings and our roasts, we always offer the happy newlyweds the opportunity to be the first to make a carving into our roast – much like you traditionally would a birthday cake. From there, it was open season for guests to come by Ste’s table and be served their mountains of pulled pork or BBQ pulled jackfruit, sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, creamy slaw, mixed leaves and refreshing salads, and a good helping of regular and sweet potato fries.
Our thanks to James and Merri for choosing Hog Roast Powys for your wedding, and to the many others who have done so too through this summer season! Until the next one!
