Coming out of the summer wedding season we might’ve figured that the autumn season would slow things down just a little bit. Not so at Hog Roast Tregynon! We’ve kicked into September at exactly the same speed as we ran all the way through the summer, and if ever there was a wedding to make sure we were still at that same high speed it was this last weekend’s one at the incredible Giraffe Shed with the lovely Paul and Emma!
The Giraffe Shed bills itself as an alternative wedding venue; it foregoes some of the more traditional aspects of other wedding venues and instead gives wedding customers the blank canvas to create their own special days with whatever out of the box ideas they wish. When it comes to alternative, we can follow along with the Giraffe Shed’s ethos quite well, having gone our own path with an alternative style of roast dining and catering for events, including weddings. Right away, we knew it was a match made in heaven!
Coming out to Paul and Emma’s wedding, the Hog Roast Tregynon team had already got the prep on our signature hog roast well underway. Because we cook in the authentic spit style, the process takes quite a bit longer than your regular oven roast. The trade-off however is even better tastes and a different kind of spectacle for your special day as our pork roast turns and cooks in a brilliant fiery and smoky display. Even just the sight of it gets you well ready for your dinner to come. We had our hog roast cooked along with crispy crackling and a preparation of fresh sage and onion stuffing for serving in every roll or wrap. Guests could also enjoy marinated chicken thighs, gourmet grilled sausages, and pile their plates high with fresh fries (both regular potato and sweet potato), baby new potatoes, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, creamy slaw and mixed leaves.
