This weekend’s event was a massive one, as the Hog Roast Gwynedd headed out to a very important site in northern Wales: Shell Island campsite! One featured on Sky TV’s ‘Under Salt Marsh’, Shell Island is an incredible summer seasonal camping site that draws in thousands of guests each and every year for a stay of fun activities, seaside action, and beautiful sunsets.
The summer season has officially come to an end at Shell Island for 2026. To mark the end of one of their biggest years yet, the team held a mass celebration with a range of activities, a dinosaur show, fireworks, and barbecue catering from Hog Roast Gwynedd. It was a real pleasure to join the Shell Island team, who have been very upfront about some of the difficulties of running a campsite under the inclement weather of the last few years. This year proved to be one of their biggest however – a remarkable achievement – with the team also bolstering to its biggest ever size with a total of 96 joining the staff over the course of the summer season. Of course the celebrations had to be big on such a remarkable season!
And so of course where to go for stylish dining for your end of season celebrations than Hog Roast Gwynedd. When you want big and stylish – when you want a real bang! – you come to us. Our head chef Ste knows how to put on a show behind the grill, as he treated our 80 guests at Shell Island to an incredible gourmet barbecue. We take the best local meats and work our magic to produce exceptional homestyle burgers, sausages, meaty spare ribs, even Thai spiced chicken kebabs and on occasion our signature hog roast. Through a wonderful evening of revelry, guests could come on by our barbecue at anytime and have Ste serve up a fresh roll filled to the brim with incredible fillings and sides.
Our thanks to Shell Island for choosing Hog Roast Gwynedd for your celebrations, and a big congratulations on a great camping season. Get your rest through the winter; we can’t wait to see you open again in March!
