Several months ago, Hog Roast Portmeirion was contacted by a local college to see if we could cater for their end of year prom. Our team was more than happy to get involved, since there is nothing more rewarding than helping to make an event a success. The prom is taking place at a hotel function room, with a ‘Hollywood’ theme, and 300 guests invited to attend. For the catering, we will be serving our Southern Slow menu, which is a varied choice that is sure to be a success at the event. Our main course will be followed by a selection of delicious desserts, which will be an elegant way to end the meal.
On the day of the prom, the Hog Roast Portmeirion team arrived at the hotel function room in the morning and got to work on preparing our main dishes. We began by slow-roasting our Cajun-spiced chickens, a 24-hour pork butt, and a delicious BBQ brisket. Additionally, we prepared BBQ-pulled jackfruit for plant-based guests. These dishes were served in fresh bread rolls and wraps, with gluten-free rolls also available upon request. For the side dishes, the guests enjoyed herby baby potatoes, freshly made chips, gourmet coleslaw, corn cobettes, and a mixed leaf salad. This combined to create a delicious main meal, with plenty for every guest to enjoy. Following this, the guests chose between sticky toffee pudding, chocolate torte, and summer pudding, with each dessert accompanied by fresh berries and thick cream. The dessert course was a success and was the perfect way to end the catering and prepare the guests for an evening of prom celebrations!
