This week will of course see a tonne of focus on the USA and the World Cup, as British football fans head on over to the states for the biggest tournament in world sports. The US will be playing host to a tonne of Brits over the coming weeks, so it only seemed right, then, that we at Hog Roast Ynys Y Mon could play host to a wonderful American family this week in return.
Having come over for a wedding held in Anglesey the day before, the US family thought they’d make even more of an occasion out of their visit by ordering for some quintessential British catering. That took them to none other than the very best British hog roast caterer in all of event dining, Hog Roast Ynys Y Mon. Our dining is steeped in British culinary history; it has always been a core part of our business to support British farming and food production by cooking traditional UK dishes, such as our hog roast or traditional beef roast. For this event, however, we simply had to treat our new US friends to the most British of all summertime foods: the barbecue.
Our barbecue differs to how the US tends to do it. You can see the difference with our very own southern slow roast menu, which takes the more smoky and spicy approach of classic American barbecue and cooks everything low and slow for hours. Ours here, meanwhile, is all about good comfort meats that are easy to throw on a grill and cook in minutes. So, for our US guests, we had our full complement from the Hog Roast Ynys Y Mon Gourmet Barbecue range: homestyle burgers, British butcher sausages, chicken kebabs, and marinated pork ribs. A veggie variant of vegetarian sausages and grilled veg and halloumi skewers was also provided. All dining was then accompanied by creamy slaw, Greek salad, and fresh chips.
