This week the Hog Roast Wrexham team had the pleasure of joining a really fun work event here in town. While most of our corporate catering days will typically take us out to an office or work site, it was a nice change of speed to instead be heading to the pub – and a great one at that as we were set up at The Golden Lion in Coedpoeth.

Unfortunately we weren’t there to enjoy our own select of work pints for the chef and serving team, but instead to cater for a great annual work get together. This is the kind corporate event that we love to see; a team just enjoying each other’s company and building up those bonds that help to make the weekly work flourish across the year. It doesn’t always have to be a big team getaway, a massive event with all the bells and whistles; sometimes just a trip to the pub is all you need for the team morale to hit the skies. That goes doubly so when you add in the dining of Hog Roast Wrexham, as pub night also became southern slow roast night thanks to Ste’s wonderful work behind our slow roaster.
Hog Roast Wrexham’s southern slow roast menu brings comfort and unique dining to the table, taking inspiration from the barbecue style of the American southern states were hot spicing and smoky and tangy barbecue marinades are well favoured. Our pub-outing guests got to enjoy the most tender beef brisket, aged over 24 hours and very slowly roasted at a low heat to allow the BBQ flavour to really intensify and the meat to get to that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness; our BBQ pork butt, complete with plenty of tanginess from our BBQ marinades; and our pulled quarter of minted lamb as another tender and flavourful addition to the menu. As it was a pub night, there may have been a little egging on to try our hottest hot pepper sauce, which luckily we had some cooling sides for in our Greek salad and halloumi skewers to instantly douse any very hot mouths.
Our thanks to all involved for a great night, and for choosing Hog Roast Wrexham for your catering!
