When it comes to matters of the heart, we Welsh are undeniably experts. We cherish the warmth of a good cwtch (hug), and our commitment to love is so deep that we celebrate Valentine’s Day twice! Enter Dydd Santes Dwynwen, or St Dwynwen’s Day, our very own Welsh Valentine’s Day, observed on the 25th of January, a few weeks before the international celebration.
This special day is marked by delightful traditions—exchanging gifts, sending cards and love letters, and crafting Welsh love spoons. And, as with any festive occasion, food plays a central part in St Dwynwen’s Day celebrations. This year, Hog Roast Aberdaron is thrilled to be part of the romantic festivities, having received an invitation to cater for 250 guests at a nearby hotel.
Leading the culinary charge is Hog Roast Aberdaron’s skilled catering manager, Terry. Eager to embrace the challenge, Terry is excited to serve our exquisite Hog Roast Dining Menu, ensuring a delectable dining experience for all attendees.
The menu boasts a tantalising selection, offering guests the freedom to choose from an array of delectable options. Imagine savouring garlic and rosemary studded lamb with Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce, or indulging in whole-roasted free-range chickens seasoned with thyme and sea salt, served alongside stuffing and chipolata sausages on fresh brown bread. For those with a penchant for plant-based delights, grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbreads provide a tempting alternative.
To accompany these hearty main courses, a variety of brightly coloured salads, coleslaw, and dauphinoise potatoes will be served, allowing guests to explore a medley of flavours and create their own personalised culinary experiences.
The anticipation is building, and Hog Roast Aberdaron is poised to deliver an unforgettable dining experience that perfectly complements the love and warmth of St Dwynwen’s Day. As we Welsh say, “Caru’n Cwtch,” which means “Love in a Hug.” And with Hog Roast Aberdaron at the helm, this St Dwynwen’s Day is bound to be filled with not just love and cwtches but also a firework of flavours that will linger in the hearts and taste buds of all who attend.
